President Zhang Wei Attended and Addressed the 1st "Digital China Summit"

On April 22-24, Mr. Zhang Wei, President of Sinochem Group, headed for Fuzhou, Fujian Province to attend the 1st "Digital China Summit" (DCS) at which he delivered a speech.

The 1st DCS was jointly hosted by the Cyberspace Administration of China, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Fujian Provincial Government. General Secretary Xi Jinping, in a letter of congratulation he sent to the summit, pointed out that in today's world, information technology is changing with each passing day; digitalization, networking and intelligentization are developing in an in-depth manner, and are playing an increasingly important role in advancing economic and social development, promoting modernization of national governance systems, governance capabilities, and satisfying people’s growing need for a better life. The summit attracted a total of approximately 800 delegates from all over China, including various provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, as well as Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. These delegates were either heads of cyberspace departments or industry organizations, or industry representatives, experts and scholars, or representatives of think tank. 

On April 22, Mr. Zhang Wei attended the opening ceremony of the summit followed by a visit to Sinochem’s booth at the DCS Achievement Exhibition to communicate with staff and audience. He said that Sinochem would actively explore new roads and new models suitable for its own development needs, continuously seek new growth points and driving forces, striving to build itself into a world-leading company with smart technologies and create a better life for people by using smart technologies. The exhibition enabled Sinochem an opportunity to focus on its achievements in information technology and showcase them to the industry and the general public. The achievements encompassed six core technologies (Sinochem Cloud Service Platform, Big Data Smart Platform, Blockchain Platform, Financial Intelligent Robot, Intelligent Fueling Robot and Smart City) while highlighted with a complete energy and chemical industrial chain system based seven business application system platforms that span from crude oil imports to refined oil sales.

On April 23, Mr. Zhang Wei was invited to the "Digital Economy" breakout session of the summit and delivered a keynote speech titled In the Digital Economy Era, Let Us Change a "Way of Living". In his speech, Mr. Zhang Wei embraced the era of digital economy as one of scientific supremacy, without impossibility, barriers and borders; Sinochem has always valued R&D investment and scientific and technological progress, and is equipped with the foundation and conditions to accept new technologies. He also introduced in detail the progress of Sinochem’s pilot project on digital transformation, including in the area of energy and agriculture. He expressed the hope that all industries unite beyond sectors, breaking border barriers to explore in joint efforts the future of digital economy with an enlightened open, cooperative, sharing and win-win mentality.

At the Internet of Things Sub-forum themed with “Internet of Things Infinity, Digitally Building the Future”, Mr. Zhang Zenggen, Assistant President of the Sinochem Group, Vice President of the SBU of Energy, and General Manager of Sinochem Energy Network Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a keynote speech entitled “The Innovation and Revolution of the Internet of Things in the Energy Industry”. The keynote speech described the development model of “Internet + petrochemical industry” in the energy sector business of Sinochem Group. Mr. Zhang Zenggen emphasized in his speech that he hopes to work together with experts and companies in the Internet industry to create innovative energy Internet companies.
