On July 19, Fortune magazine released the Global 500 companies list of year 2018 and Sinochem ranked 98th with $76.76648 billion in revenue, up 45 places from the previous year. As one of the earliest Chinese companies that made it to the list, Sinochem Group has ranked among the top Global 500 for 28 times, and this was the first time that it had secured a place among the top 100.
The latest release of the Global 500 saw 120 Chinese companies on the list, and Sinochem Group ranked 22nd. Among the 48 central enterprises supervised by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, Sinochem ranked 12th. In addition, in this year’s Global 500 list of trade industry, Sinochem Group ranked 2nd.
The Fortune Global 500 is ranked on basis of the company’s previous year’s operating revenue.
In 2017, Sinochem Group worked together with top-down efforts to have achieved a comprehensive growth in operating profit with the five strategic business units. The company’s various business objectives were successfully met, and operating performance reached a historical record high. Among them, the operating revenue exceeded RMB500 billion for the first time, recording RMB518.82 billion, an increase of 31.2% over the same period last year. The total profit increased significantly, amounting to RMB13.5 billion, an increase of 67.8% over the same period last year.
In recent years, Sinochem has unremittingly promoted strategic transformation and management reform, and achieved positive results. The company is forming an all-round, multi-level and three-dimensional innovation situation, and is embarking on a new and more vital growth track.
