The first polypropylene polymerization reactor with a capacity of 300,000 tons, designed and manufactured by Tianhua Institute using the Lummus process, was recently delivered to CNOOC Ningbo Daxie Petrochemical.

The Lummus process is a vapor-phase polypropylene technology, using a polymerization reactor as the key piece of equipment in the process. All relevant projects operating in the country are equipped with imported reactors. The first locally constructed polypropylene polymerization reactor developed by Tianhua Institute is perceived as a major breakthrough in the domestic industry and is indicative of the Institute's leap in competitiveness.
