The Shanghai Energy and Environment Exchange officially launched the Carbon Neutral Index 931755 on October 21, sampling 100 Shanghai and Shenzhen listed companies. Sinochem International (600500. SH) was enrolled for its outstanding performance in carbon emission reduction.
The Index was jointly composed by the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Shanghai Energy and Environment Exchange to amplify the role of the capital market in serving the green transformation and upgrading of the economy.
In 2020, Sinochem International invested a total of 424 million yuan in environmental protection and cut overall carbon emissions by 220,000 tons compared to 2019.
