On 30th, May, 2016, as the only Chinese entrepreneur, Chairman Frank Ning was invited to attend the World Trade Organization (WTO) Dialogue with Business Community in Geneva, Switzerland. During this event, Chairman Frank Ning presided over panel discussion of business community, and introduced specific recommendations from panel discussion to more than 100 ambassadors of various countries to WTO at the subsequent plenary session.
During this event, Chairman Frank Ning conducted in-depth exchanges with Mr. Roberto Azevêdo, Director-General of WTO, Mr. Yi Xiaozhun, Deputy Director-General of WTO and Mr. Yu Jianhua, Chinese Ambassador to WTO in terms of trade and investment.
As pointed out by Chairman Frank Ning, business community needs a fair, transparent and predictable business environment. It is expected that WTO can initiate the evaluation study for commonality of trade agreements as soon as possible, further improve the multilateral trading system, impel the discussions about a series of new trade-related issues (including investment, E-commerce, development of SMEs and trade financing), draw a roadmap, and continue to play a leading role in promoting strong, sustainable and balanced growth of the world economy.
This is WTO’s first-ever dialogue with the business community, with a view to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with the business community, thoroughly understanding business risks, trade barriers and other practical problems encountered by enterprises, comprehending main appeals and specific recommendations of businesses for investment, E-commerce, development of SMEs, trade financing and other new issues, and exploring future development directions and modes of WTO. 39 business leaders from around the world and all WTO members attended the dialogue.
