On February 24, Sinochem Group and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) held a seminar on scientific and technological cooperation and signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement. The two parties pledged to carry out extensive innovative cooperation in science and technology in the fields of new materials, new energy, biology and environmental protection in the years ahead.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Zhang Wei, President of Sinochem Group and Deputy Secretary of Party Committee in Sinochem Group, Mr. Zhang Yaping, Vice President of CAS and member of the Party Group under the witness of Mr. Frank Ning, Chairman of Sinochem Group and Secretary of Party Committee in Sinochem Group, Mr. Bai Chunli, President of CAS and Secretary of Party Committee in CAS. According to the agreement, the two parties will focus on the major scientific and technological needs for the innovation and development of Sinochem Group and carry out various forms of scientific and technological cooperation in strategic studies, joint research on key problems, commissioning of research and development, transformation of achievements and personnel training to promote integration of the innovation chain and the industrial chain and give full play to the supporting role research institutes and enterprises play in the innovative development of industries.
In addition, specific project cooperation agreements were signed between different entities under the two parties: namely Sinochem Agriculture Holdings (Sinochem Agriculture) and CAS Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research and Hefei Institute of Physical Science; Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical Co., Ltd. and CAS Institute of Process Engineering; Sinochem Shenyang Research Institute of Chemical Industry and CAS Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics; Sinochem Zhejiang Research Institute of Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. and CAS Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry.
Also present at the signing ceremony from Sinochem Group were Vice President Mr. Li Bin, Agriculture Business President Mr. Qin Hengde and Innovation and Strategy Department Director Mr. Zhang Fang.
